These Terms govern your use of the Oi Amigo service (the "Service"). The Service is provided by Sean Busuttil Cordina (MT19181713), trading as Oi Amigo ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
Oi Amigo is a language-learning app that helps you practise a target language through AI conversation partners, text chat with other learners, saved phrases, and gamified progress. Features and limits may change over time.
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service, or the minimum age required in your country, whichever is higher. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity under your account, and you agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

The Service uses generative AI to translate, suggest replies, role-play conversations, and provide feedback. You are responsible for the prompts you send, how you use the outputs, verifying their accuracy, and ensuring you have the rights to any content you submit. AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or biased and are not a substitute for professional advice (legal, medical, financial, or otherwise).
You must not use the AI to generate prohibited content (including illegal content, sexual content involving minors, deepfakes of real people without consent, malware, targeted harassment, or content designed to deceive or defraud), or to jailbreak, exfiltrate prompts, or otherwise misuse the system. As between you and us, and subject to applicable third-party rights, you own your inputs and outputs and grant us a limited licence to process them to provide, moderate, and improve the Service. We may remove, filter, or refuse outputs and may suspend accounts that violate these rules. Rights-holders may contact us at support@oiamigo.app with takedown requests; repeat infringers will have their accounts terminated.
You retain ownership of content you create. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, transmit, display, and process your content solely to operate, secure, and improve the Service. We may apply automated and human moderation to detect abuse and keep the community safe.
The Service — including software, design, branding, and documentation — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service within your selected plan. You may not resell, redistribute, or sublicense the Service.
Payments are securely processed by Stripe, our payment processor. We do not store card details. Refunds are handled per our Refund Policy. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
We aim to keep the Service available and reliable but do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your specific requirements. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or opportunity. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (such as fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence).
You will indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your content, your use of the Service in violation of these Terms, or your violation of applicable law or any third-party right.
We may suspend or terminate your access for: material breach of these Terms, non-payment, suspected fraud or security risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Profile → Account. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; sections that by their nature should survive (IP, liability, indemnity, governing law) will survive.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you via the Service or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malta. Disputes will be brought before the competent courts of Malta, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
